Can I use the Orca App on my device?

This article explains which devices are supported, the minimum system requirements, and what to consider when using devices with lower screen resolution.

The Orca App is available on supported iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Android devices. The Orca Display comes preinstalled with the Orca navigation experience.

Supported platforms

The Orca App is available for:

  • iPhone

  • iPad

  • Apple Watch

  • Mac with Apple M1 chip or later

  • Android phones and tablets

  • Orca Display

Minimum system requirements

To use the Orca App, your device must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • iPhone: iOS 15.0 or later

  • iPad: iPadOS 15.0 or later

  • Apple Watch: watchOS 9.0 or later

  • Android: Android 8.0 or later

  • Mac: macOS 12.0 or later, with Apple M1 chip or later

To connect to an Orca Core, your personal device must also support Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi.

Unsupported devices

The Orca App does not support the following devices:

  • Windows PCs, as there is currently no native Orca App for Windows

  • Intel-based Macs

  • Macs without an Apple M1 chip or later

  • Devices that do not meet the minimum operating system requirements

Screen resolution guidance

For the best experience, Orca is optimised for devices with a minimum display resolution of Full HD, also known as 1080p.

On devices with lower display resolution, the app may still install or open, but the experience may vary. Some interface elements may not display as intended, and chart readability or layout may be affected depending on the device.

For the most reliable experience on the water, we recommend using a device that meets both the minimum operating system requirements and the recommended display resolution.
