This article covers Orca Display 1 only. For Orca Display 2 owners, see the Display 2 section.

The Orca Display 1 is a 10.1” full-HD outdoor viewable screen and mount with integrated charging. Co-manufactured with Samsung and RAM® Mounts, the system combines powerful hardware and cellular connectivity with a robust hands-free experience.

The Display is delivered with a matte, anti-glare screen coating. While removable, we strongly recommend that you keep the screen coating on to protect the display and improve screen legibility.

To turn on your Orca Display, press and hold the power button on the top right side.

How to turn on your Orca Display

Once powered on, you will be asked to connect to a WiFi network and log in. Log in with the same e-mail address as you used for your purchase.

If this is your first time using an Orca Display, you will be greeted with an introduction guide. This article will summarize the introduction guide.

Physical buttons

The Display has 7 physical buttons: Three on the front, and four on the side.

Offline Maps

Offline maps are downloaded and stored permanently on your Display, making them accessible without an internet connection. We strongly recommend that you download maps for your intended travel regions prior to departure.

To download charts, open the Main Menu and select Download Offline Maps.

Updates

Updates to your Display come in two flavours, updates to the navigation experience, and updates to the underlying Android Operating System. Updates are automatically downloaded when your Display is connected to the internet.

The navigation experience is updated bi-weekly and is presented by an updated notice at the bottom of the screen.

The Android Operating System is updated whenever major updates are made available by Google. These updates will be prompted with a full-screen notice.

We recommend that you regularly connect to the internet to get access to the latest updates.

Connectivity

Some features of the Orca system require internet connectivity. These are Weather forecasts, sync of routes and spots, and automatic routing. To use these features at sea, you may provide internet via a wireless access point or use the Display’s built-in cellular capabilities.

The Display supports 3G and 4G cellular networks. To enable cellular connectivity, you’ll need to insert a nano-SIM into the Display. To insert a SIM card, see the insert SIM guide.

Installing your Orca Core & Charging Mount
