What is the black hole on the side of the Core 2?

What is it?

The small round pinhole on the side of the Orca Core 2 is the recessed reset / recovery button.

It is accessed through the pinhole using a thin tool (for example, a straightened paperclip).

This button is used to perform a firmware recovery or rollback, typically if the device becomes unresponsive - for example, after a software update.

For urgent cases only: Rolling back a version is not recommended by Orca and should be used as a last resort

What it is not?

  • This hole is not a connector or network port

  • Do not insert anything unless performing the reset procedure

  • If you are unsure, contact Orca support before pressing it

When should I use it?

Only use the recessed reset button:

  • When following the official reset/rollback procedure in the manual

  • When instructed to do so by Orca support

  • If your Core 2 stopped working after an update

A reset or rollback can change the Core 2’s behaviour, so it should not be used casually.
