Orca Core stopped working after updating it. How do I reset it?
Updated over a week ago

Orca Core updates are thoroughly tested and designed to avoid major issues. However, if you've updated your Orca Core and it’s no longer functioning properly, please reach out to the Orca support team at hello@getorca.com or use the built-in chat in the Orca app. Our team will assist you as soon as possible.

Before resetting the Orca Core, you must always make sure that your Orca Core is correctly installed and powered and check the following articles about connectivity problems:

If you need to use your Orca Core urgently and can’t wait for support, you can manually roll back to the previous version using the Core's button:

For urgent cases only: Rolling back a version is not recommended by Orca and should be used as a last resort.

  1. Locate the button, in the black hole on one of the sides of the Orca Core.

  2. Find a pencil or another thin object to press the button with.

  3. Press and hold the button for 30 seconds.

    • After 10 seconds, the LED will blink green—this signals the start of the rollback process. Keep holding the button.

    • After 30 seconds, the LED will blink again—this confirms the rollback is complete. The Core will restart and boot from the previous version.

Orca Core keeps two versions internally: Version A (current) and Version B (previous). Rolling back switches between them. So, if you roll back once and do it again, you'll return to the original version.
