Does the Core work with my boat?

Updated today

In this article, you will find a guide to what devices are compatible with the Orca Core. Please refer to the linked articles to get more information about connectivity and installation of these devices.

Autopilots

The following autopilots are supported:

  • Evolution EV-1, EV-2, EV-100 via SeatalkNG adapter cable

  • Older Seatalk/Seatalk1 autopilots via a Seatalk to SeatalkNG adapter and SeatalkNG to NMEA2000 adapter cable. Includes most ST1000, ST2000, ST3000, ST4000, ST5000, ST6000, ST7000 models. These autopilots may have been sold under the brand name Autohelm or Raytheon.

  • SPX autopilots via SeatalkNG

  • NAC-1, NAC-2, and NAC-3

  • B&G H5000

  • TP22 and TP32 via SimNet adapter cable

  • Simrad AC1x, AC4x and AC7x series directly via NMEA2000 or SimNet adapter cable

  • YDAP-04

  • GHP series

  • Reactor series

Other autopilot manufacturers

  • Autopilots that support the standard NMEA Navigation and Cross Track PGNs work with Orca, but support can be limited, and Orca offers no guarantee to work on those devices. Mode change and waypoint advancement are not supported for these autopilots.

Please note that this is a non-exhaustive list of autopilots. As a general rule of thumb, if your autopilot Head connects to your Control unit via NMEA 2000 or Seatalk, it is compatible with Orca.

Radars

Orca supports the following radars:

  • Quantum 1 & 2 with WiFi

  • Quantum 1 & 2 without WiFi

  • Please note, HD Digital Radome radar models are not compatible with Orca Core 2

  • HALO 24, 20+, 20, 8, 6, 4

  • 4G

Garmin radars are not supported

Sensors

Orca supports sensors that connect to a wired NMEA 2000 network without the need for any more parts. However, devices that connect via other networks can also be used with Orca, but they require adapter cables:

Raymarine devices connect either via Seatalk (introduced in 1989) or SeatalkNG (introduced in 2007). Refer to the Raymarine article to identify what network you have.

SeatalkNG devices require an adapter cable to connect them to NMEA 2000, with Raymarine part numbers A06045 and A06075.

Seatalk devices also require a SeatalkNG converter (Raymarine part E22158) in addition to A06045 or A06075.

Navico devices connect either via SimNet (introduced in 1989) or NMEA 2000 (introduced in 2007). Refer to the Navico article to identify what network you have.

SimNet devices connect to NMEA 2000 via the Simrad 24006199 adapter cable.

Garmin devices connect directly via NMEA 2000.
