Functionality pending to be added to a subscription tier

Some functionality in Orca is available for free during an initial introduction or development phase. The following functionality is available for free, but will be added to a subscription tier in the future:

  • Remote Access

Will I still be able to use Orca for navigation if I don't subscribe?

Yes, you will. All standard navigation features, including instruments, radar, autopilot control, and basic chart features remain fully functional.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription via the Orca account website or the Orca app from the Main Menu > Settings > Account Details. You will be connected to the original provider of your subscription, whether your purchase was through Orca, Google Play or the App Store.

Which chart regions are included in the subscription?

Paid Orca subscriptions give you access to the complete Orca chart portfolio. See the coverage article for details.

What happens with my charts if I stop subscribing?

You will retain access to your charts, and the chart regions included in the free version of the app will continue to update. However, without an active subscription, you will not receive chart updates to your offline charts, and you will not be able to add new areas to your offline charts.

What happens to other subscription functionality?

The paid features listed in the subscription table above will also cease to function.

I have Orca Premium. What happens to it?

Orca Premium subscribers retain access to functionality equal to Orca Smart Navigation – at the original subscription price of €119 / year.

How do I get full access to charts and routing in Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Turkey?

Charts for Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Turkey are not available for free after an initial trial. Navigation functionality is limited in Germany for free users. These restrictions are imposed due to data licensing restrictions. To get full access to functionality in these regions, you must get a subscription.

If you have any questions about the subscription or chart updates in Orca, don’t hesitate to reach out at hello@getorca.com.
