Orca Navigation System does not require an internet connection. It is designed as a fully offline-capable navigation system – though some functionality requires an internet connection.
Which functionality requires an internet connection?
With an active internet connection, you will be able to get:
Live weather forecasts
Create sail routes
View AIS targets via the internet
Download new charts for offline use
Update charts
Update the Orca software
Should you be without internet coverage, the system will still provide great navigation support.
Charts downloaded for offline use will always be available and Orca's GPS and on-boat sensor integrations will always function regardless of internet connectivity.
Is offline functionality in Orca available to everyone?
Offline charts and offline routing are only available with Orca Premium. If you are using a free account, you will not be able to view charts and plan routes without an internet connection.
